Job summary

Müller UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for the Market Drayton Depot. You will service, repair and maintain our HGV fleet to high safety and company standards, preparing vehicles for MOT and ensuring accurate records of all work. A strong fault-finding ability and a proactive approach to safety are essential.

Responsibilities

• Record defects and maintain accurate paperwork for all work.
• Work safely, prioritise workload and support operations.

Job description

Are you an experienced HGV Technician ready to keep a modern logistics fleet moving? This permanent HGV Technician opportunity at our Market Drayton Depot will see you service, repair and maintain our HGV fleet to the highest legal, safety and company standards.

What you'll be doing:

• Inspect, service, repair and maintain our HGV fleet to legal and company standards.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and transport them to the test centre.
• Diagnose faults, complete repairs and rectify minor accident damage.
• Record vehicle defects and maintain accurate records of all work completed.
• Work safely and efficiently, actively identifying solutions to operational challenges.
• Put safety first in every aspect of the role.

What we're looking for:

• City & Guilds Parts 2 and 3, BTEC or IMI qualification in motor vehicle maintenance, or equivalent practical commercial vehicle experience.
• Essential hands-on experience working with HGVs.
• Strong fault-finding, organisation and workload-prioritisation skills.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A Class C+E licence is desirable but not essential.

What you'll receive:

• Basic rate of £20.84 per hour.
• Overtime rate of £23.45 per hour.
• Saturday rate of £23.45 per hour.
• Sunday and bank holiday rate of £31.26 per hour.
• Unsociable-hours premium of £2.97 per hour, giving a total rate of £23.81 per hour for hours worked between 18:00 and 04:00.
• 33 days' holiday, increasing with service.
