HGV Highways Operative – Honiton

Our clients are looking for a Highways Operative to join their hardworking, dedicated team in Honiton.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, including Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways, and General Highway Maintenance.
  • Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
  • Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for daily tasks.
  • Take responsibility for vehicles, plant, and materials in your charge.
  • Provide direction and supervision to less experienced operatives where appropriate.
  • Maintain a commitment to Health and Safety standards.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills, basic literacy, and numeracy.
  • Perform manual work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Hold a valid CSCS Card.
  • Possess an HGV licence.
  • Have a valid New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) qualification.
  • Be prepared for Winter Works.
Rate of Pay:
  • This is a PAYE position, offering accrued Holiday Pay from day one.
  • Weekly Pay with no umbrella fees or additional charges.
  • Only Tax and National Insurance deductions, clearly shown on your payslip.

This is a temporary role, with potential for future permanence.
