Job summary

Pickerings is seeking a professional delivery driver to accurately deliver and collect modular buildings and portable facilities from the Totton/Southampton depot. The role requires a Class 1/C+E licence, a valid Digital Tachograph Card, and Driver CPC, with ALLMI D1+E Loader accreditation considered advantageous.

Start times range from 5:30am to 7:30am, Monday to Friday, with potential nights out and weekend work.

Qualifications

• Hold a Class 1 / C+E licence and preferably wagon and drag experience.
• Must have a valid Digital Tachograph Card and Driver CPC.
• Having ALLMI Lorry Loader accreditation D1+E Hook (or equivalent) would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and collect a range of modular buildings and portable welfare facilities and offices up to 32ft x 10ft (9m x 3m).
• Deliveries scheduled Monday to Friday, with start times from 5:30am to 7:30am and occasional nights out or weekend work.
• Maintain professional conduct with clients and work from the Pickerings depot in Totton/Southampton (relocating to Alton, Hampshire).

Job description

• £19.90 per hour
• Based at the Pickerings depot in Totton, Southampton (depot is relocating to Alton, Hampshire in 18 to 24 months)
• 45 hours per week - Monday to Friday. Start times range from 5.30am to 7.30am.
• Overtime hours paid at one and half times basic hourly rate.
• Opportunity to earn up to an additional £2 per hour through a merit scheme.

Pickerings is a leading supplier of high-quality temporary buildings. We design and supply solutions to a diverse customer base, including schools needing extra classrooms, commercial businesses needing additional office space and construction sites needing a complex of offices and welfare facilities.

The Role

As part of the depot's fleet of drivers reporting to the Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate delivery and collection of a range of modular buildings and portable welfare facilities and offices up to a size of 32ft x 10ft (9m x 3m).

Generally, delivery schedules are planned to commence between 5.30am and 7.30am, Monday to Friday. However occasional nights out and weekend work may be required.

The Company plans to relocate the depot to Alton in Hampshire in the next 18 to 24 months and therefore expects applicants to be able to work from this location.

About You

As you will be delivering to client sites, you must have effective customer service skills and be able to conduct yourself with the utmost professionalism.

You will hold a Class 1 / C+E licence and preferably have wagon and drag experience. You will also hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card and Driver CPC. Having ALLMI Lorry Loader accreditation D1+E Hook (or equivalent) would be advantageous.
