Job summary

Driver Hire Exeter are recruiting on behalf of our valued customer in Exeter for an experienced HGV HIAB Driver. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of materials to commercial, construction and residential sites, using a HIAB crane to load and unload goods.

This temporary position offers early starts (06:00) Monday to Friday, weekly pay and a pension scheme after the qualifying period. You will need a Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence, HIAB certification, Driver CPC and

Qualifications

• UK driving licence classes (C+E or C) required.
• Driver CPC and tachograph card required.
• 90 days HGV driving within last 6 months for insurance purposes.
• HIAB certification or equivalent.
• Brick Grab experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate HIAB crane safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload materials at customer sites.
• Deliver goods to construction sites, businesses, and residential locations.
• Carry out daily vehicle and crane safety checks.
• Ensure loads are secured correctly before transport.
• Follow drivers' hours regulations and tachograph rules.
• Keep the vehicle clean and roadworthy.

Job description

Are you an experienced HGV HIAB Driver looking for your next opportunity? We are recruiting on behalf of our valued customer based in Exeter and are seeking a reliable, safety-focused driver to join their growing team. Previous experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities on the roll

You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of materials to commercial, construction, and residential sites across the region. Using a HIAB crane, you will load and unload goods while providing excellent customer service and maintaining the highest safety standards.

• Operating a HIAB crane safely and efficiently.
• Loading and unloading materials at customer sites.
• Delivering goods to construction sites, businesses, and residential locations.
• Carrying out daily vehicle and crane safety checks.
• Ensuring loads are secured correctly before transport.
• Following health and safety regulations at all times.
• Adhering to drivers' hours regulations and tachograph rules.
• Keeping the vehicle clean and roadworthy.

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) UK driving licence.
• Must have completed 90 days commercial HGV driving within in the last 6 months, for insurance purposes.
• HIAB certification or equivalent lorry-loader qualification.
• Brick Grab and remote control experience.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital tachograph card.

Salary & Benefits

• £16.81 per hour PAYE Advanced.
• Alternative PAYE pay models available.
• Pension scheme following qualifying period.
• Weekly pay.

Hours of Work

• Monday to Friday.
• 06:00 am starts
• Finish upon completion of daily routes.
