Müller Milk & Ingredients Distribution in Manchester is seeking a proactive Garage Manager to lead the Vehicle Maintenance Unit. You will oversee maintenance, ensure safety and compliance, and drive improvements to fleet availability.

The role requires strong leadership, HGV knowledge, and experience in workshop management. It offers a competitive salary and benefits with potential bonus, 40 hours weekly, and on-site work at Manchester depot.

Formación

Experience leading a fleet maintenance or transport engineering team.
Strong knowledge of HGVs, trailers and maintenance systems.
Familiar with compliance, risk, and budget management.

Responsabilidades

Lead the Vehicle Maintenance Unit, ensuring safe, efficient maintenance to high standards.
Manage workshop resources, labour, and repair schedules to maximise fleet availability.
Ensure DVSA, Operator Licence, health and safety and company standards compliance.
Drive proactive preventive maintenance to improve reliability and reduce costs.
Monitor KPIs, spend and performance; coach teams for continuous improvement.
Investigate failures and apply corrective actions; build stakeholder relationships.
Maintain housekeeping, safety, quality and audit readiness across activities.
Support fleet replacement, vehicle specification and engineering improvement initiatives.
