About The Job

Job Title: HGV Fitter

Location: Ridham, Sittingbourne, Kent

Salary: £20 - £23 per hour, dependant on experience

Job Type: Permanent / Full time

Hours: Day Shifts - 6:30am - 5pm with Saturdays on a rota basis or Nights - 4pm - 12am Monday to Fridays

Countrystyle is a dynamic, privately owned resource management and waste recycling business. We operate the largest independent fleet of modern waste management vehicles in Kent, London, and the Southeast. We are seeking a HGV Fitter to join our team at our workshop in Ridham, Sittingbourne.

About The Role

To maintain high standards of workmanship and competence in performing preventative maintenance checks and general maintenance, while ensuring effective communication and relationships.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, diagnose faults, and repair fleet vehicles, trailers, and related equipment.
• Support in preventative maintenance checks, services, and repairs.
• Perform road tests and emergency repairs.
• Operate electronic testing equipment and hand tools.
• Maintain repair records and complete paperwork accurately.
• Ensure all work complies with safety policies and use PPE appropriately.

About You

Good communication skills, time and priority management, and problem-solving abilities.

Experience

• Workshop experience, particularly with HGVs.
• Desirable: Waste Industry experience and familiarity with DAF trucks.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 Driving Licence/CPC
• NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
