Job summary

Gi Group are recruiting Class 1 and Class 2 HGV Drivers to work for a well-known delivery company, based in Plymouth (PL6). There are a mixture of days, twilight and night shifts available.

Newly passed drivers are accepted. Pay rates are PAYE and include advanced holiday pay. HGV Driver responsibilities include vehicle checks, trunking to HUBs, securing loads, delivering to customers throughout the UK, and maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid Tachograph and CPC required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English for health and safety.
• No more than 6 penalty points; no DD/IN/DR/DN/TT endorsements.
• Newly passed drivers accepted; may start on Class 2 if no experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle checks.
• Trunking work to HUBs and local depots.
• Secure loads and deliver safely to customers in the UK.
• Prioritise workload to meet time commitments.
• Maintain good communication with supervisor/wave controller.
• Cover 3-4 waves across the night.
• Load and unload pallets.

Job description

Gi Group are recruiting Class 1 and Class 2 HGV Drivers to work for a well-known delivery company, based in Plymouth (PL6). There are a mixture of days, twilight and night shifts available.

Day shifts will start 0400 - 0800

Twilight shifts will start from 1200 - 1600

Nights will start between 2000 - 0130

All shifts are 8-10hrs

Newly passed drivers are accepted. (If wanting Class 1 but have no experience you will be asked to start on a Class 2).

• Good attitude to work and learn new skills
• No more than 6 penalty points (no DD/IN/DR/DN/TT endorsement codes)
• Hold a valid, in date Tachograph & CPC
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English to adhere to health and safety requirements
