Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers to join our Transport team based at Anwick. You will transport live poultry, fresh and frozen products, and other deliveries to meet business needs, with occasional overnight stays.

Candidates should have a valid Class 1 licence with up to 6 penalty points, a Digital Tachograph Card, and at least 1 year of Class 1 driving experience. You must be reliable, safety-conscious and compliant with Driver Hours regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence required with up to 6 penalty points.
• Current Digital Tachograph Card essential.
• Minimum 1 year's Class 1 driving experience.
• Good knowledge of Driver Hours regulations and transport legislation.

Responsibilities

• Transport live poultry, fresh and frozen products safely and efficiently.
• Ensure deliveries are completed on time and in good condition.
• Carry out daily vehicle and trailer inspections per policy.
• Complete paperwork accurately and return records promptly.
• Maintain loads secured and transport safely.
• Comply with Driver Hours regulations and DoT rules.
• Monitor trailer temperatures and report issues.
• Keep vehicles clean and well maintained at shift end.
• Follow biosecurity, animal welfare and health and safety procedures.
• Represent Pilgrim's Europe professionally with customers.
• Report defects or safety concerns promptly.
• Support environmental initiatives by reducing waste.

5 x HGV Drivers
Location: Anwick
Hours: Thursday to Monday 53.75 per week

Pilgrim's Europe is looking for experienced and professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Transport team based at Anwick.

This role involves the transportation of live chickens, fresh and frozen products, and other deliveries required to meet business needs. There may also be occasions where overnight stays are required.

We are seeking reliable drivers who take pride in safety, vehicle standards, customer service and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport live poultry, fresh and frozen products safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all deliveries are completed correctly, on time and in the required condition.
• Carry out daily vehicle and trailer inspections in line with our nil-defect policy.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and return records in a timely manner.
• Ensure loads are secured correctly and transported safely.
• Maintain compliance with Driver Hours regulations, Digital Tachograph requirements and Department for Transport legislation.
• Monitor and record trailer temperatures throughout journeys.
• Clean and maintain vehicles to a high standard at the end of each shift.
• Follow all biosecurity, animal welfare, health and safety and company procedures.
• Represent Pilgrim's Europe professionally when dealing with customers and members of the public.
• Report any defects, incidents or health and safety concerns promptly.
• Support environmental initiatives by reducing waste and working responsibly.

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Current Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 1 year's Class 1 driving experience.
• Good knowledge of Driver Hours and Transport legislation.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Experience working within a transport environment.
• Willingness and ability to obtain a Transport of Animals by Road Certificate.
