Job summary

Shoreham Port is seeking experienced Class 1 HGV drivers to join our fleet across the UK. You will be responsible for safe vehicle operation, loading/unloading cargo, and delivering to customers on local, regional, and national routes.

We expect a professional approach, reliability and punctuality, with a CPC card and full UK driving licence. The role offers overtime and a competitive salary of £40,842 per annum based on a 48-hour week, plus night-shift uplifts where applicable.

Responsibilities

Job description

Shoreham Port is recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers to join our fleet of HGVs and trailers. We bring 260 years of logistics and cargo handling experience to create an efficient and customer focused service to our customers across the UK.

We are looking for professional drivers to join our friendly team. The successful candidates will take pride in their role and have a proven track record of delivering excellent service as well as being reliable and punctual.

Skills and Experience

• Take pride in the vehicle and take ownership for its safe operation and maintenance.
• Play an active role in the loading/unloading of cargo.
• Through the use of the route plan provide an efficient service to customers locally, regionally and nationally.
• Act as a brand ambassador for Shoreham Port through the safe and legal operation of the Port’s HGV vehicle on the Public Highway.
• Provide a high standard of customer service during all interactions with all customers, delivery destinations and the general public.
• Maintain an up-to-date Driver Certificate of Professional Competence.

Working Pattern

• Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, with the possibility of working a sixth day on a Saturday/Sunday when required.
• Due to national network routes, drivers may be required to work away from their home base.
