Job summary

SSE plc in Oban is recruiting for a permanent, full-time role to support the expansion of our internal delivery capability alongside Overhead Linespersons for network replacement and upgrades.

You will operate 4x4 lorries and HIAB cranes, deliver stores and equipment to SSEN depots across Argyll and the islands, and transport plant to support local teams. Daily vehicle inspections and a standby rota are part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Operate 4x4 lorries and HIAB cranes to support Line Teams with installation of plant and apparatus across the network.
• Deliver stores, equipment and materials to SSEN depots throughout Argyll and the islands, including Mull, Islay, Tiree, Arran and Bute.
• Transport plant and equipment such as excavators, tracked MEWPs and dumpers to support local operational teams.
• Complete daily vehicle inspections and promptly report any defects or issues identified.
• Participate in a standby rota, providing support for fault response activities overnight and at weekends.
• Adopt a flexible approach to work, undertaking a variety of duties to meet changing business requirements.
