Job summary

Huws Gray Group is recruiting an HGV Driver / Warehouse & Yard Operative for PDM Kilmarnock. You will deliver to customers, assist with stock in the yard and warehouse, and maintain vehicle standards while upholding safety rules.

The role supports ongoing training, with HIAB qualification encouraged and a focus on customer service and efficient operations across our branches in Scotland.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 2 HGV driving licence.
• HIAB certification offered; training may be provided under agreement.
• Good knowledge of health and safety rules and tachographs.
• Experience in yard/warehouse operations preferred.

We are looking for a HGV Driver / Warehouse & Yard Operative to join us at PDM Kilmarnock!

PDM are Scotland’s leading supplier of Civils, Above Ground and Multi-Utilities products. Operating across our network of 10 branches in Scotland, we pride ourselves in our technical, knowledgeable, and loyal staff who located at all our depots, can provide technical assistance in offering best advice and solutions to our customers.

We rely on our HGV Drivers / Warehouse & Yard Operatives to make sure products get to our customers when they need them. You’ll be making sure our stock in the yard and warehouse is easily accessible to be picked, loaded, and delivered in our lorries. Working in one of our branches you’ll be part of a team where everyone is putting the effort in to offer brilliant customer service and to get the job done.

Here’s a Quick Overview Of Some Of The Things You Can Expect To Do As An HGV Driver/ Warehouse & Yard Operative With PDM

• Provide an efficient and dependable delivery service to our customers


• Building great relationships with customers out on the road and representing our brand


• Keeping up to date with all Health & Safety legislation and administration relating to your role (tachographs, training, delivery notes etc)


• Look after our vehicles, carrying out appropriate checks on a routine basis


• Serving our customers in the yard/warehouse providing a good knowledge of the best products for their projects


• Supporting with incoming deliveries, making sure stock in the yard & warehouse is put away correctly and kept tidy in line with Health & Safety guidelines

We can give you plenty of training and equip you with the tools that you’ll need to succeed as an HGV Driver/ Warehouse & Yard Operative however you will need a Class 2 HGV driving licence to be able to drive our company vehicles.

We’ll support you to gain your HIAB certification if you don’t already have it. Training will be provided by us, and you’ll become fully qualified to operate HIAB equipment. A training agreement will apply, meaning if you leave the business within a set period after completing the training, you’ll be required to repay the cost.
