Job summary

SAGA Truck & Van is seeking an experienced HGV driver to safely move, sign in/out and transport commercial vehicles around the dealership and yard. You will coordinate vehicle movements for efficient workshop flow and maintain high standards of customer service.

The role requires a valid HGV Class 1 licence with prior driving experience, a clean licence with minimal points, and a good understanding of driving regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence (PSV desirable) and previous HGV driving experience.
• No more than 6 points, and no DR10 on licence.
• Good knowledge of driving laws and regulations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Customer-focused with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Safely manoeuvre and position HGVs and commercial vehicles around the dealership, yard and workshop.
• Carry out vehicle checks in line with health and safety requirements.
• Sign vehicles in and out with accurate records.
• Collect and return customer vehicles and transport to MOT/test centres.
• Coordinate parking, storage and movement to maximise space and workflow.
• Work with Service Reception, Workshop Controllers and Technicians to ensure vehicles are available in time.
• Provide a professional service representing the Mercedes-Benz brand and dealership.
• Ensure all vehicle movements are safe and responsible.
• Maintain a clean, organised yard and storage areas.
• Follow health and safety and site operation policies.
