Job summary

We are recruiting for a Driver Trainer at our Skelmersdale Depot (WN8 8DZ) within the Muller Milk and Ingredients Distribution Business. You will deliver driver assessments, inductions and ongoing development training, including CPC and fuel-efficient driving techniques, promoting safety culture and ensuring compliance.

The role also covers post-incident training, maintaining compliance records, and collaboration with transport and compliance teams to uphold best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
• Team player who works well on own initiative.
• Excellent attitude to work.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and reliability.
• HGV Class 1 Licence (LGV Cat C+E) and CPC.
• CPC and digital driving card.
• No more than 6 points on driving licence (no CDs, DDs, DRs or INs).

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-employment driver assessments for Permanent and Agency drivers.
• Support MMID Health and Safety culture, including local safety campaigns.
• Work with Lead Driver Trainer to support safety roadshows, driver forums and national events.
• Promote and deliver driver development, including Safe & Fuel-Efficient Driving (Connexus).
• Support driver CPC periodic training requirements.
• Support internal LGV training opportunities.
• Deliver all aspects of new driver induction training and existing driver development training, including vehicle/trailer familiarisation and manual handling.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and GDPR rules.
• Support Company SSoW processes and related documentation.
• Ensure drivers are familiar and proficient with existing and new equipment.
• Train CIP techniques as directed by site requirements.
• Ensure vocational licences are valid as part of pre-employment process.
• Maintain up-to-date data in Tachomaster compliance system.
• Support Lead Driver Trainer with EU & RTWTD remedial actions.
• Complete post-accident remedial training.
• Communicate with Compliance and Transport teams to ensure best practices.
• Risk assessment of route, delivery and collection locations.
