Job summary

Ocado Logistics is hiring an HGV driver to operate within our Essex-area network, delivering and collecting goods across a variety of Ocado sites. The role requires flexibility to cover nights, late and early shifts, with a minimum contractual 32 hours and potential overtime based on routes.

Salary is paid lunar 4-week cycles with a base rate plus premiums for evenings and Sundays, plus overtime rates. A clean licence and CPC training support are emphasized, with pension and discount benefits

Qualifications

• Category C+E driving licence required.
• Maximum of 6 penalty points.
• No driving disqualifications in the past 10 years.
• Minimum of 12 months experience on your licence.
• Desirable to have LGV experience (6 months).

Responsibilities

• Drive and deliver or collect goods to and from Ocado sites and customers in line with policies.
• Work a flexible night/late/early shift pattern including weekends, with regular overtime expectations.
• Prepare and handover to the next driver or site according to schedule.
• Maintain vehicle and safety standards as part of Ocado Logistics fleet.

Job Description

The Best HGV job you will ever do! Large Goods Vehicles (LGV) drivers will undertake delivery and collection of products to and from a variety of locations in line with all company policies and procedures.

You will be required to work a flexible shift pattern consisting of nights, late and early shifts including weekends. Your minimum contracted hours will be 32 hours, however routes are assigned up to 12.5 hours per day, as such you will regularly be expected to carry out additional hours.

Day-to-day you will collect shopping from our state-of-the-art warehouses and take it to our smaller regional sites. No multi drops or hidden lanes.

What do we need from you?

A passion for driving and all things trucks and lorries, along with the following driving licence requirements:

• A category C+E driving licence
• A maximum of 6 penalty points
• No driving disqualifications in the past 10 years
• Minimum of 12 months experience on your driving licence
• Desirable to have a minimum of 6 months LGV experience

It also is a prerequisite that you are a safe and competent driver with the ability to be flexible on your shift length on a daily basis. As our new state of the art fleet are our pride and joy and we need to know they are in safe hands.

Pay Structure

This position is lunar paid. This means you will be paid every 4 weeks according to a monthly schedule. Please take this into consideration when applying.

• Hourly pay:
• Basic Rate: £19.20
• Evening premium (18:00-06:00): £2.00
• Sunday Day Premium: £1.74
• Sunday Evening Premium (18:00-06:00): £3.94
• Overtime Day rate: £24.00
• Overtime Evening rate (18:00-06:00): £26.50
