The Lanes Group is seeking a HGV Jet Vac Engineer to join our Operational Teams in Plymouth, supporting our expanding depot network.
You will be part of a two-person team operating high-specification jetting equipment and vacuumation units. Your projects will include drainage issues such as blockage clearance, pipe cleansing, and emergency reactive works.
While based at the depot, you will be mobile, attending various work sectors including industrial, rail, utility, commercial, and residential areas.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (8am-4.30pm). Flexibility is essential due to travel requirements.
You may already be familiar with high-pressure jetting equipment and drainage networks, but full training will be provided for the right candidates. You must hold an HGV Class 2 licence with no more than 3 penalty points. A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
To succeed as a Utilities Waste-Water Technician, you should have problem-solving, listening, critical thinking, teamworking skills, and a customer-focused approach. Operating machinery requires excellent hand-eye coordination and concentration. Useful skills include:
Working outdoors in various weather conditions requires protective clothing such as hi-vis jackets, boots, and helmets. Travel to different sites may be required. The workday often starts early, especially during summer, with drains needing attention at any hour, including emergencies.
You will need to comply with all Group Health, Safety, and Environmental policies. Full training will be provided as part of the Group Induction Training package.
