Job summary

Amey is recruiting for a Highways Maintenance Operative (HGV Driver) at the Forfar depot. The role covers frontline highway maintenance, drainage and civils work, with on-call and night shift duties as required. You will operate HGVs and support site teams across the NMC North East Account.

The role focuses on safety, teamwork and delivering high-quality road maintenance across Scotland while contributing to winter services and emergency responses.

Qualifications

Hands-on, safety-focused and enjoy working as part of a team in a varied outdoor environment.
Experience within highways, civils, construction or a related trade.
Winter maintenance or emergency response experience.
Full UK Driving Licence.
HGV Licence preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

Deliver a range of highways maintenance activities, including drainage, kerbing and civils works.
Operate HGVs, plant and specialist equipment safely and effectively.
Lead or support site teams and work closely with gangers and colleagues.
Complete accurate records including site diaries and work measurements.
