Job summary

Amey is inviting applications for a Highways Maintenance Operative (HGV Driver) based at our Forfar depot. The role involves delivering drainage, kerbing and civils works, supporting routine maintenance and larger schemes, and operating HGVs and plant safely.

You’ll work with site teams, keep accurate records, and contribute to winter maintenance and emergency responses. The ideal candidate holds a Full UK Driving Licence; an HGV Licence is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
• HGV Licence preferred but not essential
• Hands-on, safety-focused, team player for outdoor work

Responsibilities

• Delivering highways maintenance activities including drainage, kerbing and minor civils works
• Supporting routine maintenance and larger improvement schemes
• Operating HGVs, plant and specialist equipment safely
• Leading or supporting site teams and coordinating with gangers
• Completing records including site diaries and work measurements
• Winter maintenance and emergency response including standby and call-outs
• Maintaining health, safety and compliance at all times
