HGV Driver (Class 2)

Salary £16.98 per hour

Hours 45 hours per week, 06:30am to 16:30pm

Location Central Bedfordshire

As a Class 2 HGV Driver at FCC Environment, you will play a vital role in transporting waste from our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) to designated disposal sites across the district. You will ensure that waste is safely and legally moved between locations, supporting our ongoing mission to reduce landfill and increase recycling.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?

• Transporting waste from HWRC sites to designated disposal or processing locations
• Following Drivers Hours regulations and legal driving practices
• Downloading and managing tachograph data for compliance
• Completing required transport documentation accurately
• Conducting daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness
• Reporting health and safety incidents in line with company policies
• Following FCC company policies, risk assessments and safe working practices
• Representing FCC professionally on site and at third-party locations
  
  

What are we looking for?

• A valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV Licence
• Roll on Roll off Experience preferred
• CPC and Tachograph Card essential
• Excellent attention to detail and adherence to legal compliance
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• A flexible, adaptable and self-motivated approach to work
• Someone who is honest, trustworthy and capable of working alone or as part of a team
• Previous HGV driving experience preferred but not essential
