Job summary

Pallex Devon & Cornwall in Launceston is recruiting Class 2 drivers to join our new depot team. You will deliver on a planned route, comply with road safety rules and complete daily vehicle checks.

We offer a £34,000 salary with up to £2,400 annual bonus, 23 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, a strong pension with life assurance, and career development opportunities. We welcome veterans and provide adjustments if needed.

Qualifications

• Class 2 licence and Driver CPC required.
• Completed DCLC training hours.
• Previous multi drop experience is preferred.
• Excellent customer facing skills and navigational knowledge of UK geography.
• Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and problem solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely within the size and type limits of the vehicle.
• Keep to speed limits appropriate for the vehicle.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Collect and return paperwork with the Traffic Office and keep records.
• Carry out deliveries as planned and contact Traffic Office if issues arise.
• Notify Traffic Office after all deliveries for collections instructions.
• Return all paperwork at end of shift and wear supplied PPE as required.

Pallex Devon & Cornwall are hiring Class 2 drivers to join the team at our new depot in Launceston.

Role Specific Responsibilities

• Basic requirements as identified in the RHA Professional Drivers Handbook
• Drive to a safe standard, considering the size of the vehicle
• Keep within the speed limits for the type and size of the vehicle you are driving
• Ensure that Vehicle daily checks are completed and that any defects are reported
• Report any issues and collect all paperwork from the Traffic Office
• Carry out deliveries in accordance with the planned route, contacting the Traffic Office immediately if any issues arise that impact your delivery schedule
• Contact the Traffic Office when all deliveries have been made for instructions on collections
• Return all paperwork to the Traffic Office at the end of each shift
• Wear the supplied uniform and correct PPE for each task as required by the Health & Safety Executive. Minimum requirements are Safety Boots and Hi-Viz jacket/vest
