A reputable transport company in Burton-on-Trent is seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to transport goods using HGV vehicles. The role requires a valid HGV Class 1 or 2 license and at least 3-5 years of driving experience. Job Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of goods using Heavy Goods Vehicles for tanking work and ensuring all deliveries are completed on time and in line with company standards and legal requirements. You will be required to also drive our other vehicles on a regular basis including vans and pickup trucks whilst towing a trailer.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate HGV vehicles to deliver and collect goods across designated routes.
Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues promptly.
Ensure all loads are safely secured in compliance with transport regulations.
Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes, defects, daily log sheets and tachograph records.
Maintain high standards of customer service at all times.
Comply with driving regulations, working time directives, and health & safety procedures.
Keep vehicles clean and presentable.
Towing experience is a must
Driver vans and pick up trucks whilst towing to various parts of the country
Requirements
Valid HGV Class 1 or 2
Up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
Digital Tachograph Card.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in HGV driving preferred.
Excellent knowledge of UK road laws and routes.
Strong attention to detail and time management.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Desirable
Previous experience in e.g., waste management, construction, logistics, etc. .
Forklift or HIAB certification
