Job summary

A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is seeking Class 1 and Class 2 drivers for the Talbot Green Depot on a 40-hour week with a Sunday-Thursday rota.

The role focuses on safe, accurate delivery and compliance with tachograph regulations, with opportunities to develop within a large family-owned business. Key duties include ensuring vehicle compliance, timely deliveries, and adherence to company policies while supporting customers and colleagues across Logistics, Distribution & Warehouse.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 Licence is essential.
• Driver CPC is essential and a C+E Licence is desirable.
• Demonstrable experience in vehicle operation is essential.
• Knowledge of tacograph regulations is essential.
• Warehousing and distribution experience is desirable.
• Able to work both in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all vehicles comply with traffic regulations in force.
• Adhere to hours worked limits and tachograph use.
• Promptly report refrigeration engine defects to management.
• Report accidents to the company and police as required.
• Deliver orders accurately and on schedule.
• Obtain authorisation for returns and check goods accordingly.
• Notify delays that affect daily work completion.
• Maintain friendly relations with customers and handle queries.
• Attend CPC training as required.
• Load vehicles according to restrictions.
• May work evenings and weekends; endure temperature extremes and standing.
• Operate within the company values and maintain confidentiality.
