Job summary

U Value Insulation is seeking a dedicated HGV Driver to join our Kings Norton, Birmingham operation. The role focuses on timely deliveries and maintaining high service standards for customers across insulation and dry lining materials.

Ideal candidates will hold a valid HGV licence with DQC, a positive attitude, and a willingness to assist other branch staff. Training is provided for relevant duties within a family-run, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV licence with appropriate class requirements.
• Driver Qualification Card (DQC) holder preferred.
• Positive, proactive approach and willingness to support branch staff.
• Experience with multi-site deliveries is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV on pre-planned routes and maintain delivery schedules.
• Carry out routine vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness.
• Drive and operate vehicle in a responsible and lawful manner per policies.
• Report vehicle defects to line/branch manager promptly.
• Complete tachographs and other required documents timely.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
• Load orders correctly and obtain signatures on delivery notes.
• Safeguard company goods against loss or theft; perform other duties as required.

HGV Class 1 & 2 Driver

LOCATION - Kings Norton, Birmingham

Monday - Friday - (45 hour working week with O/T option)

We are currently recruiting for an HGV C1 and or C2 Driver to join a family run business who specialise within distribution of Insulation and Dry Lining Materials.

Our drivers play an integral part in the day to day running of our business. Therefore, it's important that our customers get their deliveries on time, every time. Our drivers provide a timely, friendly, and dependable delivery service to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Driving our HGV on pre-planned routes
• Ensure that the vehicle is road worthy by carrying out appropriate checks on a routine basis
• Ensure that the vehicle is driven and maintained in an appropriate and courteous manner and in line with legislation, health and safety guidelines and company policy
• Report any vehicle defects immediately to line/branch manager
• Ensure that tachograph and other essential documents are completed in a timely and efficient manner
• Build effective working relationships with customers
• Responsible for ensuring all orders are correctly loaded onto the vehicle in line with health and safety procedures and proper documentation is completed prior to departure in order that goods can be tracked
• Ensure that delivery notes have correct signatures as per company policy
• Actively safeguard against theft of company goods or property by always being security conscious
• To perform any other duties as may be deemed necessary or as may be required by the company

Requirements

• Hold the correct valid licence
• Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
• Positive and can-do attitude
• Willingness to support other members of branch staff with Warehouse/Yard or any other duties

Desirable

• Experience of multi-site deliveries
• Moffet experience is ideal but not essential however full training can be provided for someone that does not have this experience
