Job description

Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our client in Portadown to recruit an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver.

Role involves working day shifts, starting at 10 AM until the end of the shift.

Duties:

1. Supervise the loading of the vehicle to ensure products are safely loaded and secured to minimize damage.
2. Coordinate with the Transport team and Loader to verify that the load matches the customer's orders.
3. Ensure that upon arrival, the delivery is safe to make and respect the customer's property; consult with the customer or Transport team if in doubt.
4. Check goods off with customers, obtain signatures, and print documentation.
5. Handle customer issues during delivery effectively and contact the Transport team for assistance if required.
6. Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
7. Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.
8. Operate within tachograph law and driver hours limits.
9. Maintain the vehicle to prevent unnecessary damage.
10. Keep the driving cab clean and tidy.
11. Minimize accidents and report any incidents promptly following company procedures.
12. Complete daily vehicle inspections.

Criteria:

1. A minimum of 1 year's Class 1 driving experience.
2. Up-to-date CPC and Digi Tacho knowledge.
3. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
4. Preference given to candidates with refrigeration experience.
