Job summary

Severn Waste is seeking an HGV Driver (C+E) to operate hook lift vehicles and transport waste between sites across Worcestershire and Herefordshire. You will be responsible for vehicle safety checks, load securing, and ensuring exemplary service while complying with all safety and environmental standards.

The role is full-time, based in Herefordshire, with a 46.50-hour week. Training and progression opportunities are available, along with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid C+E driving licence.
• Experience as an HGV driver is essential; hook lift experience is desirable but training may be provided.
• Knowledge of the local area is advantageous.
• Flexible, reliable and safety-conscious approach required.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Drive hook lift HGVs to service FCC sites and third-party facilities.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections, safety checks and defect reporting.
• Ensure loads are secured safely and in line with procedures.
• Comply with transport legislation and maintain driver records.
• Wear PPE/uniform and maintain high safety standards.
• Provide a polite and professional service to colleagues, customers and the public.
• Support additional operational duties as required.

• Driving HGV hook lift vehicles to service FCC sites and third-party waste facilities
• Carrying out daily vehicle inspections, safety checks, and defect reporting
• Ensuring loads are secured safely and in line with company procedures
• Complying with transport legislation and maintaining accurate driver records
• Wearing issued PPE/uniform and always maintaining high safety standards
• Providing a polite and professional service to colleagues, customers, and the public
• Supporting additional operational duties as required

What are we looking for?
