Job summary

DPD UK in York is seeking a reliable HGV Driver to join our national transport team. You’ll move bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers using a modern fleet. This role focuses on nationwide deliveries, trailer swaps, live loading/unloading, GPS route management and 100% compliance.

You’ll be the face of DPD with dispatchers and customers. We value safety, professionalism and knowledge of UK roads.

Qualifications

• The license requirements include a UK Class 1 (CE) licence, CPC card and digital tachograph card.
• Experience with Class 1 vehicles is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UK roads and safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on HGV-friendly locations.
• Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and digital tachographs to manage your route and remain 100% compliant.
• Maintain professional relations with dispatchers and customers across the country.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving in all conditions.

Qualifications

What You Bring

• The License: Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE) Licence, CPC Card, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• The Experience: At least 6 monthsexperience handling Class 1 vehicles.
• The Skillset: Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads and a "safety-first" mindset.
• The Vibe: You’re a resourceful problem-solver who can work under pressure and hit deadlines whilst delivering great service
