Job description

Driver Hire Bournemouth and Salisbury are now offering an exciting temporary opportunity for experienced HGV Class 1 or HGV Class 2 drivers with our client in Shaftesbury.

In this role, you will complete deliveries in an HGV curtain-sider, using a pallet truck for unloading or at the delivery site. Typically, each round involves 6-7 drops during day shifts.

Position:

HGV Class 1 and HGV Class 2 Driver

Working Days:

Monday-Sunday (flexible)

Pay Rate:

• £16.25-17.37 (basic)
• £18.21-19.61 (nights)
• £20.17-20.73 (weekends)
• £25 night-out allowance (for tramping work)

Quoted rate is for PAYE with advance holiday pay.

Requirements for HGV Drivers:

• No more than 6 penalty points (no DR, DD, or IN codes)
• Valid UK Class 1 or Class 2 HGV driving licence
• Valid CPC and digital tachograph card
• Your own transport to get to and from work
• Minimum of 3 months recent commercial driving experience

Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, colleagues, and customers
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance
• Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies
• Safely operate HGVs to transport goods to various locations
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Minimum of 8 hours pay per day
• Temp-to-perm opportunities
• Free CPC training provided
