Job summary

Recruit4staff are representing a well-established environmental services business in their search for an HGV Driver to work in Birmingham. The role offers a permanent opportunity with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

The successful driver will perform pre-start vehicle checks, operate a Class 2 vehicle across Birmingham and surrounding areas, and collect commercial waste while upholding safety, compliance and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Class 2 Licence is required.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card or willingness to obtain one.
• Previous experience as an HGV Driver.
• Strong understanding of vehicle compliance and road safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily pre-start vehicle checks.

Recruit4staff are representing a well-established Environmental Services business in their search for a HGV Driver to work in Birmingham

• Pay: £14.88 per hour (Overtime available after 40 hours paid at 1.5x rate, performance-related bonus worth up to an additional £1,000+ per annum)
• Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 5:00am start, 40 hours per week
• Duration: Permanent
• Benefits: Standard pension scheme, 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, performance-related bonus scheme, overtime at enhanced rates

Job Role: The HGV Driver will carry out daily pre-start vehicle compliance checks before safely operating a Class 2 vehicle across Birmingham and surrounding areas. The HGV Driver will collect commercial waste from customer sites while maximising safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. This HGV Driver role offers a permanent opportunity within a professional environmental services operation where high standards of driving and customer service are essential.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

• Class 2 Licence
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card or willingness to obtain one
• Previous experience as an HGV Driver
• Strong understanding of vehicle compliance and road safety requirements

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• Refuse truck experience
• Experience driving HGVs through residential areas
• Previous waste management or environmental services experience
