Job summary

Stonegate Farmers is seeking a professional Class 1 HGV Driver to join the Transport team at the Lacock Packing and Distribution Centre. You will be responsible for safe collection and delivery across our nationwide network, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires a valid Class 1 licence, CPC, tachograph card and HGV medical, with a focus on safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence.
• Driver CPC Qualification Card.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Valid HGV Medical.
• Good understanding of driver hours legislation and transport compliance.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and customer service.
• Experience transporting chilled or temperature-controlled goods.
• Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or agricultural distribution.
• Experience with delivery documentation and compliance records.

Responsibilities

• Complete deliveries and collections safely, efficiently and on schedule.
• Load and secure correct products before departure.
• Verify products against delivery documents.
• Collect eggs from producer farms, ensuring traceability records are completed.
• Maintain product traceability and compliance requirements.
• Handle products carefully to minimise damage to eggs, pallets and vehicles.
• Adhere to driver hours legislation and transport compliance requirements.
• Download and maintain Digi-card records and complete weekly compliance paperwork.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects promptly.

Stonegate Farmers is looking for a professional and reliable Class 1 HGV Driver to join our Transport team based at our Packing and Distribution Centre in Lacock, Wiltshire.

The Role

As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and delivery of products across our nationwide network. You will ensure all transport activities are completed in line with legal requirements, food safety standards and company procedures while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete deliveries and collections safely, efficiently and on schedule.
• Ensure the correct products and consignments are loaded and secured before departure.
• Verify products and quantities against delivery documentation.
• Collect eggs from producer farms, ensuring all traceability and collection records are completed accurately.
• Maintain product traceability and compliance requirements at all times.
• Handle products carefully to minimise damage to eggs, pallets and vehicles.
• Ensure the correct allocation of clean plastic trays and equipment to producer sites.
• Adhere to driver hours legislation and transport compliance requirements.
• Download and maintain Digi-card records and complete weekly compliance paperwork.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects promptly.Ensure vehicles are clean, refuelled and maintained to a high standard.
• Process customer returns and collection documentation accurately.
• Obtain signed proof of delivery documentation and return paperwork to the office.
• Represent Stonegate Farmers professionally and deliver exceptional customer service.

Essential Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence
• Driver CPC Qualification Card
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Valid HGV Medical
• Good understanding of driver hours legislation and transport compliance
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and customer service

Desirable Experience

• Experience transporting chilled or temperature-controlled goods
• Previous experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or agricultural distribution
• Experience working with delivery documentation and compliance records
