Job summary

Cencora Alloga in Derby is seeking a professional Class 1 HGV driver/shunter to deliver goods safely and efficiently from the Derby distribution centre on a Monday-to-Friday pattern. You will support on-site shunting, complete accurate paperwork, perform daily vehicle checks, and uphold strict safety and compliance standards.

The role requires a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC, and a Digital Tachograph Card, plus a solid understanding of hours regulations and transport laws.

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods safely, efficiently, and on time while providing exceptional customer service.
• Carry out on-site shunting duties to support the smooth operation of the distribution centre.
• Maintain regular communication with the Transport Office, reporting delays or operational issues promptly.
• Complete all transport and delivery documentation accurately, including proof of delivery and returns paperwork.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles remain roadworthy, clean, and compliant.
• Ensure all loads are secured and transported safely in line with legal and company requirements.
• Adhere to all road traffic legislation, driver regulations, and company policies.
• Report any incidents, defects, accidents, safety concerns, or temperature excursions immediately.
• Maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism at all times.
