Newrest has an exciting opportunity for the role of a HGV Driver. The driver is responsible for loading the catering consignment(s) onto a truck as per the daily load plan, flight schedule, and unloading of vehicle(s) at the unit. As a driver, you are responsible for checking that the load is safe and secure prior to driving the truck to the airfield using a designated route. All activities must be accomplished according to customer guidelines in a timely manner and while adhering to safety and security regulations. The role aims to provide excellent standards of service at all times to ensure the site and assets are safe and secure.

- References accepted only for business accounts if worked abroad in previous 5 years
- Bank statements if lived abroad with a GAP of less than 6 months
- No acceptable references if GAP exceeds 6 months

Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Check your vehicle prior to use at the start of your shift following security and safety protocols
- Report vehicle defects or damage to the team leader
- Ensure vehicle is security checked and sealed before departure with proper documentation
- Maintain food safety by ensuring refrigeration is operational
- Load and unload catering in accordance with safety rules and airline requirements
- Load aircraft as per galley plans and company policy
- Drive to the aircraft complying with all relevant rules and laws
- Ensure security documents are handed over and delivery note signed
- Return catering to the unit and offload correctly
- Use Tacho correctly for each trip in compliance with regulations
- Operate high loader vehicle following safety procedures
- Deliver and collect from various UK destinations as requested
- Report incidents and accidents promptly
- Wear correct uniform and PPE at all times
- Keep vehicles clean and refuel as needed
- Perform other duties related to administration, store, equipment, production, etc., as required
- Adhere to safety, security, and cleanliness standards
- Interact professionally with colleagues, customers, and clients
- Comply with CSR initiatives
- Perform any other duties as assigned
