Job Description:

We are looking for a self-motivated, driven individual who enjoys a challenge to work alongside our energetic team in Acton. The role requires a CAN-DO attitude. We are a fast-paced business with plenty of opportunities for growth so if this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!

JOB PURPOSE

To drive LGV/HGV vehicles and deliver goods and services as required. To drive company delivery vehicles and deliver its goods to customers efficiently and considerately whilst ensuring the health and safety of self, the public and other road users. To ensure the good maintenance and operation of the company's assets and to provide excellent service to customers.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To check the safety and condition of the vehicle at the start of each day and record its condition using the system provided and promptly report any faults as they occur.
  • To care for the company's assets whilst in his/her charge and ensure they are used according to the manufacturer's recommendations ensuring effective long-term performance.
  • To ensure the vehicle is securely loaded and restrained and that the vehicle weights are within the legally permitted limits.
  • To drive as efficiently and productively as possible but to do so within the prevailing road traffic law.
  • To give due consideration to the health and safety of self, the public and other road users always.
  • To always represent the company both on the road and at the customers' premises in a professional and considerate manner and to report promptly any matters likely to affect the company's business prospects.
  • Assist in the yard and other duties as may be required when not driving or taking legally required breaks.
  • To complete reports and documentation on time and as accurately as possible to assist in the management of the business.
  • To contribute to the well-being and profitability of the business as far as it depends upon him/her.

JOB DETAILS

  • £14.53 per hour (+£10 per day compliance bonus).
  • 6am - 4:15pm Monday to Friday (51.25 hours per week).
  • Overtime after 10hrs15mins per day paid at 1.5x hourly rate.
  • Saturdays on a rota basis at overtime rate (6am - 1pm).

REQUIREMENTS FOR ROLE

  • Drivers CPC Card and Valid Tachograph Card (Essential).
  • FORS Gold trained (Desirable).
  • Good knowledge of Driver Working Hour Regulations (Desirable).
  • Experience driving Low Cab Vehicles (Desirable).
  • Full Training provided.
  • Newly passed drivers welcome to apply.
  • Must be happy to work alternate Saturdays on a rota basis.
