Job summary

Quest Waste Management Ltd is recruiting a Class 2 Jet Vac Driver / Operator to join our Kirkby in Ashfield team. You will operate HGV vacuum tankers for the safe collection, transport, and disposal of liquid waste, sludge, and other materials.

Responsibilities include local and nationwide deliveries, pre-use inspections, safe loading/unloading, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires a strong safety mindset and teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Full UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• Driver CPC is required for operating commercial vehicles.
• Tachograph Card is mandatory for time recording and compliance.
• Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain) is required for site access.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vacuum tankers for safe collection, transport, and disposal of liquid waste, sludge, and other materials.
• Carry out local and nationwide deliveries and collections, adhering to hours, routes, and client schedules.
• Perform pre-use inspections and routine maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Load and unload materials safely using hoses, fittings, and pumping systems.
• Maintain accurate records of collections, deliveries, disposal notes, and waste transfer documentation.
• Coordinate with dispatch and operations teams to optimise routes and schedules.
• Adhere to environmental, health & safety regulations at all times.
• Carry out tank cleaning and decontamination work as required.
• Represent Quest Waste Management professionally on client sites.
• Report incidents, defects, or near misses promptly to management.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and presented to company standards.
• Support team members and assist with training when required.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

• Maintain accurate records of collections, deliveries, disposal notes, and waste transfer documentation.

• Work closely with dispatch and operations teams to coordinate routes and schedules efficiently.

• Adhere strictly to environmental, and Health & Safety regulations at all times.

• Carry out tank cleaning and decontamination work as required in line with operational procedures.

• Represent Quest Waste Management professionally on client sites, maintaining high standards of customer service and site conduct.

• Report any incidents, defects, or near misses promptly to management.

• Ensure vehicles and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and presented to company standards.

• Support team members and assist with training and mentoring when required.

• Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence (maximum of 6 penalty points).

• Driver CPC (required).

• Tachograph Card (required).

• Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain).

• Keen interest in drainage, waste management, or related utilities sectors.

• Practical, hands-on attitude with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Basic IT skills and a positive approach to learning new systems and processes.
