Job description

Aviation Recruitment experts Optime Group are looking for Class 2 HGV Drivers to join one of our prestigious clients based in the Gatwick area. The role offers a fantastic opportunity to build a career within a leading logistics business at the airport.

What's on Offer:

1. Rate of Pay: £16.48 per hour
2. Shift pattern: 4-on / 4-off (This could be subject to change)
3. Shifts: 06:00am to 18:00pm
4. Staff parking
5. Weekly pay (Every Friday)
6. Temp to Perm (performance-based)

Start date :

1. ASAP

Key Duties:

1. Being part of a team to collect Domestic and Commercial waste in and around Gatwick Airport.
2. Consider domestic versus international driving regulation.
3. Loading, unloading, and delivery of goods, collection of returns and empty media delivered back to the consolidation centre.
4. Follow customer specific procedures.
5. Maintain regular contact with the warehouse management team.
6. Count and check all products, compare to manifest and complete a visual check for damage.
7. Report any excesses, shortages or damage to the warehouse manager or team leader in a timely manner.
8. Secure loads effectively and ensure loads are within the weight limits.
9. Complete routine vehicle checks and ops 13 paperwork.
10. Comply with appropriate working time legislation.
11. Any other reasonable duties and tasks as required.
12. Compliance with Tachograph regulations inclusive of CPC training and tachograph operation.

Shifts:

The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working on a 4 on 4 off rolling rota. This could be subject to change!

An example of the shift hours:

1. Day 1: 06:00am to 18:00pm
2. Day 2: 06:00am to 18:00pm
3. Day 3: 06:00am to 18:00pm
4. Day 4: 06:00am to 18:00pm

6. OFF
7. OFF
8. OFF

Requirements:

1. Class 2 Drivers who hold a Full UK Driving License.
2. You must hold a valid CPC and Digi Card.
3. Great understanding of the English language.
4. Drivers who are passionate and take pride in their work.
5. Must be able to provide 5-year checkable history, in order for us to obtain your blue airside pass.
6. Drugs and alcohol testing will be required prior to employment.
