Job description

Driver Hire Leeds West is recruiting on behalf of a leading waste management and recycling company based in Leeds. We are currently seeking a dependable and experienced Night Shift Hook lift Driver to join the team for an ongoing night shift role, focused on local shunting operations between two nearby depots.

This is a fantastic opportunity for drivers with hooklift experience looking for a steady night schedule with minimal traffic and short-distance runs.

The Role:

• Operating a hook liftvehicle to shuttle baled recyclable materials


• Moving loads between the main recycling facility in Leeds and a secondary depot directly across the road


• Ensuring safe and efficient hook lift operations during all transfers


• Working independently overnight with occasional interaction with site teams


• Adhering to site safety and transport compliance protocols

Initial working hours:
7:00 PM - 4:00 AM (subject to change depending on operational needs)

Requirements:

• Valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence


• Valid CPC and Tachograph card


• Experience operating hooklift systems (required)


• Strong awareness of safety when operating heavy vehicles in confined spaces


• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work night shifts consistently

Pay Rates:

• Standard hourly rate: £20.17 per hour


• Overtime rate: £20.73 per hour

  • Once Permanent: Once permanent, our client is offering a basic starting salary of £31,200 per annum alongside the opportunity for overtime, and enhanced payrates over Bank Holiday.
