Job summary

Lawsons Ltd. is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver for our Briants of Princes Risborough branch.

The role involves delivering building materials safely to trade and retail customers across the local area, with a focus on reliability, professionalism and excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have a valid HGV Class 2 licence with HIAB experience, Driver CPC, and a strong understanding of safe loading, driving hours and compliance with UK transport rules.

Qualifications

• Full, valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
• HIAB qualification or relevant operator training.
• Driver CPC qualification and tachograph card.
• Previous experience delivering building materials or in a builders’ merchants environment.
• Good knowledge of safe loading/unloading and vehicle security procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle with HIAB to complete customer deliveries safely and on time.
• Plan routes considering site access, customer requirements and time windows.
• Load, transport and unload building materials using HIAB and handling equipment.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and keep equipment in safe, roadworthy condition.
• Report defects or incidents promptly and maintain accurate paperwork.
