Job Description:

We are offering full expensed training from Class 2 to Class 1 for candidates who wish to pursue this progression route. You will be paid Class 1 salary throughout your training.

£500 signing bonus - Payable after 3 months of employment!

Join our Driver team based at our Warrington Hub. The hours of work are 40 hours per week (additional hours may be available). Shift times will vary between 05:00 and 20:00. There may also be some weekend work. Candidates should be flexible to work outside of normal hours when required.

Our Drivers are the face of the company, playing an integral role in delivering excellent customer service. We seek a professional, self-motivated individual who can work effectively both in a team and independently. Reporting to the Fleet Controller, you will ensure compliance with all EU and DVSA regulations, H&S procedures, and vehicle safety standards, including working time directives and driver hours regulations.

The Class 2 Driver will report directly to the Hub Manager.

What you'll do:
  • Follow specified run lists to complete collections and deliveries.
  • Provide excellent customer service with a professional attitude.
  • Transport and deliver company and customer products safely.
  • Complete deliveries and collections on time.
  • Comply with legislative requirements and company policies.
  • Represent the company professionally.
  • Work as part of a team with other drivers.
  • Perform pre-operational vehicle checks to high standards.
  • Promote teamwork and demonstrate a positive attitude.
  • Communicate courteously with employees and customers.
  • Complete and submit paperwork accurately.
  • Perform manual handling safely.
  • Report vehicle defects immediately.
  • Maintain contact with the Transport Department, especially if issues arise.
  • Secure loads properly and within weight limits.
  • Adhere to working time legislation.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Full training will be provided during induction, with ongoing training to support your career development.

Who we're looking for

You should have demonstrable experience as a Class 2 Driver, with knowledge of Road Transport Legislation. Ability to understand health and safety procedures delivered in English, diligence, and attention to detail are essential. A calm temperament and the ability to react calmly in challenging situations are required. Passion, motivation, and a drive to complete tasks to a high standard are important. Knowledge of the mailing industry and downstream access market is advantageous.

Required licenses or certifications:

  • Full clean UK driving license (or up to 6 points).
  • Completed CPC.
  • At least 2-5 years of experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant regulated driving experience.
  • Full knowledge of Road Transport Legislation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
