Aligra Personnel Ltd is recruiting for an experienced or entry-level HGV Class 2 Driver in Fareham. The role involves daily vehicle inspections, route planning, and completing 15 drops per shift across multi-drop deliveries.

You will load/unload goods, use our check-in/out system, and maintain thorough delivery documentation while delivering excellent customer service. Applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and CPC with Digi Tacho cards.

Responsibilities

• Daily Vehicle Inspections: conduct daily checks on your HGV Class 2 vehicle and report defects.

• Multi-Drop Deliveries: complete an average of 15 drops per shift with careful handling of goods.
• Loading and Unloading: load/unload items safely using pallet jacks or hand trucks.
• Check-In/Check-Out System: log deliveries and returns accurately in the system.
• Documentation: complete delivery paperwork and maintain records.
• Customer Service: communicate effectively with store personnel and resolve queries.
• Health and Safety: adhere to safety regulations and report incidents promptly.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Vehicle Inspections: Conduct comprehensive daily checks to ensure your HGV Class 2 vehicle is in impeccable and roadworthy condition. Promptly report any defects or issues to your supervisor to facilitate timely repairs and maintenance.
• Route Planning: Efficiently plan your routes for delivering pallets to stores and mini markets, ensuring maximum productivity while adhering to schedules. Utilise advanced GPS technology and other navigation tools to circumvent traffic and optimise route efficiency.
• Multi-Drop Deliveries: Execute an average of 15 drops per shift, ensuring goods are delivered promptly and in perfect condition. Handle a variety of goods, guaranteeing they are securely fastened and protected during transportation to prevent any damage.
• Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload goods at various delivery points, ensuring items are palletised and protected during transit. Employ appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Check-In/Check-Out System: Use the company's check-in/check-out system for effective tracking and documentation of deliveries and returns. Ensure all scanned items are accurate to avoid discrepancies and ensure smooth operations.
• Documentation: Accurately complete all required paperwork, ensuring the collection, signing, and filing of all necessary documentation upon delivery or collection. Maintain records of delivery notes, invoices, and any customer feedback for future reference.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with store personnel, addressing and resolving any queries or issues professionally and promptly. Build positive relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including the safe handling and transportation of goods. Immediately report any incidents, accidents, or near-misses to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

Monday to Friday: 05:00-06:30 start times.
