Job summary

Opus People Solutions are recruiting 7 HGV Class 2 Drivers to join Coventry City Council's Environmental Services team on an ongoing temporary basis at Whitley Depot. Immediate starts after assessment.

Location is Coventry with shifts starting around 6:00–7:00 am, 37 hours per week plus overtime. Competitive pay rates (£14.82/h PAYE, £20.19/h Umbrella) and overtime opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence with Driver CPC.
• No more than six penalty points on licence.
• Good professional driving record and ability to work safely under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles safely across Coventry and surroundings.
• Carry out vehicle checks, inspections and defect reporting.
• Ensure compliance with driver hours regulations and health and safety standards.
• Work with supervisors and operational teams to complete daily tasks.
• Maintain excellent customer service when interacting with residents and stakeholders.
• Support waste collection, recycling, highway maintenance and related environmental services.
