Job summary

Connect2Dorset is seeking a Refuse Driver in Wareham to join the Dorset Council waste teams. Drive a Category C (Class 2) vehicle and assist in the collection of household and commercial waste and recycling across the local area.

You will work as part of a crew, prioritising safety, efficiency, and customer care, and you must comply with road safety rules and council regulations. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, with a temporary ongoing contract and pay at £15.31 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate refuse collection vehicles in compliance with road safety and council regulations
• Carry out routine vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is clean and roadworthy
• Drive designated routes to collect domestic, commercial, and recycling waste
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure routes are completed efficiently
• Report any issues such as missed collections, blocked access, or vehicle faults

About the Role
