Job summary

Huntingdonshire District Council is looking for reliable HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our frontline waste and recycling team at Eastfield House, Huntingdon. Hours are Monday–Friday, 6am–2pm, with duties including leading a small crew and performing vehicle checks.

You must hold an HGV Class C licence and a CPC qualification, with a safety-first mindset and strong communication skills. Full PPE, training, and a supportive, customer-focused environment are provided.

What you’ll do:

You’ll drive and operate our collection vehicles, lead your crew on daily rounds, carry out vehicle checks, and ensure safe, efficient waste and recycling collections. You’ll also use in-cab tech to log issues and complete your round. When not driving, you’ll support the team by loading bins, working outdoors in all weather, and engaging with the public in a polite and professional manner.
