Job summary

Lanes Group PLC in the UK is seeking a HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer to join our Thames Water contract delivery team. You will travel across residential sites in the Home Counties, operate high pressure jetting and CCTV equipment, and deliver high-quality drainage solutions while maintaining safety standards.

The role is full-time, with 4 days on/4 days off and a salary of £50,000 per annum including basic pay, overtime, on-call allowance and incentives. Training and PPE are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence and CPC certificate.
• Digi tachograph card up to date.
• Experience with high pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential.
• NRSWA and Confined Spaces qualifications are an advantage.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Travelling to residential sites in a HGV to operate high pressure water jetting.
• Clean, clear, repair and maintain drainage systems.
• Record each job report on specialised equipment.
• Run diagnostics and repairs on drains using CCTV and electro-mechanical tools.
• Rodding blockages.
• Delivering good customer service.
• Maintain good H&S practice.

We operate 24/7 and as such you are required to work flexible hours, weekends and participate in an on-call rota. Full training / PPE / use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.

Position: HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer

Location: Ryemeads, Home Counties

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

Hours: 4 days on 4 days off, 40.25 hours (earlies and lates)

Salary: £50,000 per annum (made up of basic pay, overtime, on call allowance and bonuses)

About the Role:

Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.

• Travelling to residential sites in a HGV, around the Home Counties area powering a high pressure water jet for restoration.
• Clean / clear / repair and maintain drainage systems.
• Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
• Run diagnostics and repairs on drains using electro mechanical and specialist CCTV survey equipment.
• Rodding blockages.
• Delivering good customer service.
• Maintaining good H&S practise while carrying out works.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be hard working and respectful and comply with health and safety standards. Experience in the use of High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage.

You must have a minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence and you must have completed the certificate of professional competence (CPC) and an up to date digi tachograph card.
