Job description

Driver Hire Leeds West is currently recruiting for a reliable and flexible Spare / Cover Driver to support one of our key waste management clients operating in the local area. This is a fantastic opportunity for drivers looking to take on a varied role with early starts and the chance to become an essential part of a dedicated team.

The Role as HGV Class 2 Cover Driver:

You'll be working on bin collection routes, providing vital support across the operation. As a cover driver, you'll step in to cover:

• Planned holidays


• Staff absences or sickness recovery


• Additional operational demand

This role is best suited to a proactive and adaptable driver who's comfortable starting work early and enjoys a mix of routine and change. You'll be expected to work as part of a crew and contribute to the overall efficiency and safety of the daily route. You will be required to be available Monday to Friday

What We're Looking For as HGV Class 2 Cover Driver:

• A valid Category C (Class 2) licence


• Valid CPC and Tachograph card


• Previous experience in waste management or similar sectors is desirable but not essential


• A positive attitude, good team ethic, and a strong work ethic


• Punctuality and reliability for 4:00 AM starts

Pay Rates:

• Standard hourly rate: £15.69 per hour


• Overtime rate: £18.94 per hour
