Job summary

Black Point Recruitment LTD in Hertfordshire is seeking a motivated HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver for busy local routes in and around Buntingford. You will work with loaders to complete residential and commercial collections on a regular, early-shift schedule.

The role requires a valid HGV Class 2 licence, CPC, and a digital tachograph card, with 6 months of Class 2 experience preferred. Immediate starts and path to temp-to-perm are available.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 Licence (Category C) required.
• CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) required.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Minimum 6 months Class 2 driving experience.
• Good knowledge of UK driving regulations.
• Reliable, punctual and team-focused.

Responsibilities

• Driving a Class 2 dustcart vehicle on assigned routes.
• Supervising and working with a team of refuse loaders.
• Completing household and commercial waste collections.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Ensuring compliance with waste management and safety regulations.
• Assisting with loading duties when required.
• Completing all relevant paperwork and route documentation.

As an HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver (Refuse Driver), you will be responsible for operating a dustcart vehicle on scheduled waste collection routes, working alongside a team of loaders to complete residential and commercial collections efficiently.

This is a hands‑on Class 2 driving role requiring good awareness of health & safety, route management, and teamwork.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving a Class 2 dustcart vehicle on assigned routes
• Supervising and working with a team of refuse loaders
• Completing household and commercial waste collections
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Ensuring compliance with waste management and safety regulations
• Assisting with loading duties when required
• Completing all relevant paperwork and route documentation

Pay & Benefits:

• £17.35 per hour (accrue holiday)
• £19.44 inclusive of holiday pay.

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
