Job summary

GRS Group is seeking a self-motivated driver for a role based near Tyttenhanger. The position involves daily vehicle checks, safe loading procedures, and professional representation at customer sites. You will be part of a team in a fast-paced environment with clear growth opportunities.

45 hours per week plus overtime, 23 days paid holiday, and a company pension are among the benefits. Training is provided on all equipment, with uniform supplied and regular day hours.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 license is required.
• Driver CPC card is required.
• Valid Tachograph card.
• Training on site on the day.

Responsibilities

• Check vehicle safety and condition at start of day and log findings.
• Care for company assets and follow manufacturer usage guidelines.
• Ensure loads are secure and within legal weight limits.
• Drive efficiently while obeying road laws and safety rules.
• Represent the company professionally with customers.
• Assist in yard duties when not driving.
• Complete reports accurately to support business management.

Job Purpose

Main Duties & Responsibilities,

• To check the safety and condition of the vehicle at the start of each day and to record its condition using the system provided and to promptly report any faults as they occur.
• To care for the company's assets whilst in his/her charge and ensure they are used according to manufacturer's recommendations ensuring effective long-term performance.
• To ensure the vehicle is securely loaded and restrained and that the vehicle weights are within the legally permitted limits.
• To drive as efficiently and productively as possible but to do so within the prevailing road traffic law.
• To give due consideration to the health and safety of self, the public and other road users at all times.
• To represent the company both on the road and at the customers' premises in a professional and considerate manner at all times and to report promptly any matters likely to affect the company's business prospects.
• To assist in yard and other duties as may be required when not driving or taking legally required breaks.
• To complete reports and documentations to time and as accurately as possible to assist in the management of the business.
• To contribute to the wellbeing and profitability of the business as far as it depends upon him/her.
• Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place.

Requirements For Role,

• Training on site on the day.
• HGV Class 1 License.
