Job summary

QS Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for a temperature-controlled trunking role in the UK. Work involves between RDCs/NDCs with no multi-drop deliveries, full compliance, and customer service focus.

The position offers temp, temp-to-perm, and permanent possibilities with overtime rates after 9.4 hours. Rate is £16.98 PAYE, overtime £22.59, Saturday £22.59, Sunday £33.96. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence with HGV1 (C+E) entitlement.
• Minimum 12 months continuous experience driving articulated lorries in the UK.
• Digi card and Driver CPC card required.
• Good understanding of drivers' working hours and the Working Time Directive to avoid infringements.

Responsibilities

• Complete temperature-controlled deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Trunk loads between RDCs and NDCs, with no multi-drop deliveries.
• Seal and unseal vehicle rear doors per procedures.
• Monitor refrigeration units and maintain required temperatures.
• Report temperature discrepancies or refrigeration issues promptly to the depot.
• Safely couple and uncouple trailers per procedures.
• Supervise loading and unloading of goods.
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and records.
• Adhere to road transport legislation, company policies, and health & safety rules.
• Perform vehicle and trailer checks and report defects.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join a well-established operation carrying out temperature-controlled trunking work with great overtime rate after 9.4 hours
This is a straightforward driving role focused on trunking between Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) and National Distribution Centres (NDCs), with no multi-drop deliveries. You will be responsible for ensuring loads are transported safely, efficiently and at the required temperature, while maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete temperature-controlled deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Trunk loads between RDCs and NDCs, with no multi-drop deliveries.
• Seal and unseal vehicle rear doors in accordance with company procedures.
• Monitor refrigeration units throughout each journey and ensure required temperatures are maintained.
• Report any temperature discrepancies or refrigeration issues promptly to the depot.
• Safely couple and uncouple trailers in line with company procedures.
• Supervise the loading and unloading of goods.
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, records and documentation.
• Carry out all duties in accordance with road transport legislation, company policies and health & safety procedures.
• Complete vehicle and trailer checks and report any defects or issues appropriately.

Hourly Rate: You'll earn £16.98 PAYE and the overtime rate is £22.59 which you will be paid after you have completed 9.4 hours.The Saturday rate is £22.59 PAYE, and the Sunday rate is £33.96 PAYEYou have a holiday entitlement of up to 28 days (pro rata).Please note, we cannot offer visa sponsorships for this role.

Working Hours: Start times are between 0700 & 1000 each day.Shift lengths are approximately 10 hours.

Experience & Qualifications

We are looking for HGV1 Drivers with the following:

• A full UK Drivers Licence with a HGV1 (C+E) entitlement.
• A minimum of 12 months continuous experience driving articulated lorries in the UK
• a valid Digi card
• a valid Driver CPC Card
• a good understanding of driver's working hours and working time directive and understanding of how to avoid infringements.

You must not have any more than 6 points on your licence
