Job summary

Netbox Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver for a permanent tramping role in Kent. You will carry out UK-wide deliveries and overnight stays, with training on Walking Floor available. The position offers full-time, permanent employment with regular overtime opportunities.

You must have a valid HGV Class 1 licence, CPC and tachograph card, and 2+ years of Class 1 experience. Walking Floor experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

HGV Class 1 Tramping Driver

£16ph First 50 Hours | £18ph Overtime | Night Out Allowance

Are you an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver looking for a permanent tramping position with a well-established haulage business?

We're currently recruiting on behalf of an established Kent-based transport and haulage company who are looking to add reliable and experienced Class 1 Drivers to their growing team. If you're happy being out on the road, enjoy the freedom of tramping and want the opportunity to learn Walking Floor (if you don't already have the experience), this could be a great next move.

• £16.00 per hour for the first 50 hours
• £18.00 per hour for overtime

About the role

You'll be carrying out UK-wide deliveries and collections, with regular overnight stays required. The client operates a varied commercial fleet covering Walking Floor, bulk tipping, low loader, general haulage, curtainsider and flatbed work, so there is plenty of scope to build your experience across different areas of transport.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Safely operating a Class 1 vehicle and trailer
• Completing deliveries and collections across the UK
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks
• Ensuring loads are safely secured
• Completing delivery paperwork and documentation
• Following drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
• Maintaining a professional relationship with customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects promptly
• Keeping your vehicle clean and looked after

You’ll need:

• A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• 2+ years' Class 1 driving experience
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
• A reliable and professional attitude
• To be comfortable with tramping and overnight stays
• Walking Floor experience? Highly desirable - but NOT essential

If you've already driven Walking Floor trailers, that's a big advantage, however, if you have 2+ years' Class 1 experience but haven't driven Walking Floor before, don't let that put you off. Full training can be provided for the right candidate.
