Job description

Purpose: As a member of our Class 1 driving team, your day will be highly varied. You will interact with customers and manage a range of collections, from customers’ homes to commercial units. You will be driving a seven-car transporter and should be mechanically minded, as some vehicles may not drive, be accident-damaged, or require winching. You need to think quickly and solve problems efficiently. You will be part of a successful and talented transport team, working closely with our operational and material handling teams.

Location: Poole Site, BH12

Salary: £34,740 (+£2,080 performance bonus after 6 months' probation)

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday

Reporting to: Transport Manager

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collect end-of-life, insurance, and damaged vehicles from customers at multiple locations for return to Rugby, as well as depot-to-depot transfers.
• Complete paperwork daily; good literacy and numeracy skills are required.
• No shift work or weekend rotas; we offer a competitive salary and benefits.
• Average 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Skills & Attributes:

• HGV Class 1 (Class CE)
• Experience in vehicle recovery or transporter work with a semi-trailer car transporter is highly desirable but not essential.
• Must hold in-date CPC and DIGI card, with 2 references.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and regulations.
