Job description

Position: Class 1 Driver

Contract Type: Permanent – 27 hours per week

Location: Preston

Shift: Afternoon (Mon, Tues, Weds / 09:00-19:00)

Salary: £24,921

Successful candidate will start after 1st May 2025

You will operate a Volvo lorry, equipped with high-spec features for comfort, on a schedule that typically starts in the evening, with 45-hour work weeks from Monday to Friday. Key Role Responsibilities:

We trust our drivers to plan their routes and work independently. Your duties include trunking to regional hubs during night shifts, ensuring timely delivery of cages, pallets, freight, and other goods, inspecting your vehicle daily, and maintaining excellent communication with customers and team members.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Class 1 Driving licence
• Driver CPC qualification card
• Completed or working towards required DCPC training hours
• Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and commitment to safety
• A proactive, 'can do' attitude
