Job summary

The JRL Group is seeking experienced Class 1 drivers to join our construction logistics team. Roles are tramping positions across Elstree, Biggleswade, Sheerness, Nottingham, Birmingham, Peterborough, and Newark.

This is a full-time PAYE position with competitive hourly rates and a guaranteed minimum shift. You will operate mainly flatbed trailers carrying precast concrete, steel and other building products, and secure loads with straps.

Qualifications

• Valid Category C+E (Class 1) licence and Driver CPC.
• Valid digital tachograph driver card.
• Proven experience with flatbed trailers and strapping of loads.
• Willingness to work away from home during the week (tramping positions only).

Responsibilities

• Operate predominantly flatbed trailers.
• Transport precast/construction goods including panels.
• Secure loads with straps; load restraint experience required.
• Tramping roles with multiple nights away.
• Full-time position.

The JRL Group is a highly successful, privately owned, national construction group head quartered in North London. With a turnover of in excess of £360m, the business is currently experiencing growth and as such seeks to strengthen our Precast team.

Class 1 (HGV) Drivers Required: Tramping Positions
Locations: Elstree | Biggleswade | Sheerness | Nottingham | Birmingham | Peterborough | Newark

We are recruiting experienced Class 1 drivers to join our construction logistics operation. Positions are available for tramping drivers, with competitive hourly rates, guaranteed minimum shift pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

The Role

• Operating predominantly flatbed trailers
• Transporting a mix of construction products, including precast concrete, steel, containers, formwork and scaffolding, and facade panels
• Securing loads by strapping, so previous experience of load restraint is required
• Tramping positions, with multiple nights out available during the working week
• Full Time position

Pay

• Monday to Friday: £19.00 per hour, flat rate, with a minimum 10-hour shift.
• Saturday and Sunday: Enhanced Rate £21.00 per hour, with a minimum of 10 hours paid.(Applies to Hours worked.
• Night out allowance (tramping drivers): £22.50 per night.
• Parking Fees (tramping drivers): Reimbursed through expenses and repaid weekly.
• Full Time PAYE Position
