Qualifications

Job description

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Barnsley area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Hours: CHOOSE YOUR OWN SHIFT TIMES FROM 1300 UNTIL MIDNIGHT

Pay Rates:

  • (AFTERS): Monday to Thursday £16.87, Friday £17.60, Saturday £18.29 & Sunday £18.61 PAYE
  • (NIGHTS): Monday to Thursday £17.59, Friday £18.10, Saturday £20.69 & Sunday £21.96 PAYE

Location: Barnsley, S74.

Job Type: Long-term, ongoing.

The role:

  • Trunking to one depot, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels.
  • Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
  • Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
  • Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 months' HGV driving experience.
  • Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
  • Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • Successful completion of practical / theory assessment.
  • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
